Pros

Where to start; there is so much to like about working at Anaplan! 1. The TEAM - everyone is eager to succeed and help others succeed. Everyone leans in with most questions answered in minutes or a few hours. 2. The CULTURE - sound basics and strong emphasis on all the right things. Anaplan always seeks to do the right things and also actively stands up for things that I believe in, like equal opportunity and non-discrimination. 3. The CHALLENGE - I am constantly challenged and very often outside of my comfort zone, in a healthy way. 4. The PRODUCT - the Anaplan Platform. It's awesome and amazing what herculean planning and decision making processes it can help organisations with. There is soooo much capability there that it's almost frightening.

Cons

1. The flexibility, applicability and xp&a capabilities of the Anaplan Platform is almost too much to take in - sometimes difficult to narrow down and simplify the messaging to customers. 2. Shares. Used to have a great ESPP (employee share purchase program) as well as stock grants. This went away with Thoma Bravo PE acquisition a couple of months ago. Employees now awaiting to learn what kind of incentive programs will replace this.

Pros

One thing I genuinely appreciated was that the C-suite seemed invested in keeping everyone in the loop. The monthly town halls felt like more than just a formality and gave you a real sense of where the company was headed. When you had a good stretch, people noticed. The company feels like it has real momentum and on a macro level.

Cons

Leadership was inconsistent in my experience and seemed to depend heavily on which manager you ended up with. It often felt like luck of the draw. I personally found the planning process to be more reactive than strategic, with urgency only kicking in once results were already suffering rather than getting ahead of it. The workplace culture also had a gossip element that I found draining over time. My biggest frustration was around performance recognition. I observed situations where reported numbers didn't seem to reflect reality, yet the consequences appeared minimal at best. I would have liked to see more transparency and accountability around how top performers were identified and rewarded, because in my experience the current approach didn't always feel equitable to those who were playing by the rules.
