Pros

Free snacks, good location, product is decent I guess. Can't think of anything else honestly.

Cons

As many of the 1 or 2 star reviews suggest, Anaplan is a company built on deception of a 'great startup'. Anaplan is ruled as a dictatorship under the leader Emperor Fred Laluyaux, all departments and employees must kowtow to all his wishes and requests. All middle, C-level, and VP managers are weak, including the CTO who is intimidated and makes decisions at the behest of the Emperor. The Emperor always claims that Anaplan is a 'fast moving' and the 'culture is not for everyone' which is a great excuse for basically saying we have a really bad culture. The most fitting description of Anaplan can be summarized as 'chaos'. The company has a knack for inducing and stoking a chaotic work environment. Everything from lack of process, to backstabbing colleagues, and the BS that's constantly being promoted by HR and marketing. It's a very toxic work environment. Never experienced anything so toxic in my career. As previous reviews have mentioned, the emperor has been recruiting low-level SAP managers to serve his conquest as VPs and SVPs, so you'll often find that there are a lot of incompetent managers with lofty job titles and golden parachutes. If you like chaos and toxicity in a work environment. Anaplan is a great company for you! Also, this reviewer can confirm that HR did in-fact tell the company to write up faulty reviews of the company.

Pros

One thing I genuinely appreciated was that the C-suite seemed invested in keeping everyone in the loop. The monthly town halls felt like more than just a formality and gave you a real sense of where the company was headed. When you had a good stretch, people noticed. The company feels like it has real momentum and on a macro level.

Cons

Leadership was inconsistent in my experience and seemed to depend heavily on which manager you ended up with. It often felt like luck of the draw. I personally found the planning process to be more reactive than strategic, with urgency only kicking in once results were already suffering rather than getting ahead of it. The workplace culture also had a gossip element that I found draining over time. My biggest frustration was around performance recognition. I observed situations where reported numbers didn't seem to reflect reality, yet the consequences appeared minimal at best. I would have liked to see more transparency and accountability around how top performers were identified and rewarded, because in my experience the current approach didn't always feel equitable to those who were playing by the rules.
