Pros

Only good for like 2 to 3 years max if you are an intern and wanting to get you feet wet before moving on.

Cons

ADI has become a horrible non-technical company, The have become nothing but a dog and pony show. They take over companies like Linear Technology and now Maxim then blow it due to the HR department not understanding the internal politics and dynamics of the different groups when they come in and take over. As a result the wrong people often become managers then people from the opposing sides start leaving because they know what will happen or they get laid off. The problem originates from ADI's company headquarters in Massachusetts and the head HR guy there doesn't have a clue. Many of us here in Santa Clara originally from LTC in Milpitas are are currently looking for employment elsewhere due to the environment. I've been on job interviews recently and when you tell them you work for ADI they roll their eyes because most people in the industry who have worked for or had dealings with ADI already know. It's common knowledge and its getting worse. No one with any real technical knowledge stays with ADI more than 2 to 3 years max as a result. The quality and reliability of LTC's power devices for example has already deterioated signicficatly to where I've had customers ask me what is going on because they are starting to have real problems. I cannot wait for find other employment and get out of here.

Pros

Company made effort to bring in employees together Good mobility within the company- plenty of opportunities to move or transfer to different roles/ departments/ locations

Cons

A lot of different programs or initiatives that didn't go anywhere or result to nothing You think the company cares, but not really. Reorgs and layoffs happens very frequently. Folks who got affected seemed random and not well- thought of.
