Pros

Once you have established yourself, things do seem to go your way. The salary is ok and it's relatively easy to fill your hours and get some over-time classes too.

Cons

The company is going through a stage of expansion and it's become very apparent that their attitude to teaching is that of quantity over quality. When I first joined, all the teachers that I met were content with their positions and there was barely any critique to offer. However, now the mood has duly changed and it's now becoming the norm for teachers to leave their contracts and find better work elsewhere. Some specifics I don't like: - There can be mind-numbing bureaucracy in trying to find just simple information to help you. - The KPI monthly bonus is used as a punitive tool to deny you a full salary. They will always cherry pick and find something that wasn't quite perfect. - The have now fired all of their full-time TA's and instead hired an army of part-time (university students who they can pay less) to step in. Most of whom simply don't care for the progress of their students and rarely have everything prepared for the lesson.

Pros

Amslink is very welcoming in the beginning and provides great training. You have at least 1 Vietnamese teaching assistant with you in every class to help with translating, behavior issues, and tech support. They try to work with the teachers to give them a good schedule which I really appreciated. Also there's a lot of support for writing lesson plans. Teachers are provided with books, reference lesson plans, and a syllabus to help guide them. Makes teaching the material pretty easy.

Cons

Amslink is a for-profit English center. That often made it feel like the money was more important to them than the work or the teachers. Expect to be told you are wrong and the parent is always right. Communication was another big issue, information is given out pretty late and sometimes incorrectly. Double check your own pay, number of days off, etc to make sure the numbers are accurate. Do your research to make sure you are getting paid fairly as well. Like I said earlier, they are trying to make a profit and you may need to fight for a fair salary. Finally, Amslink does have the right to cancel classes and change your schedule whenever they want. This can be frustrating when your days off are changed or your classes are changed every few months. It makes it hard to build steady relationships with the students.
