Pros
It's cool to have a job, I guess.
Cons
-Will do anything to bring a client on board, including working with toxic clients. -BD team sells clients on processes that don't exist OR timelines that are unrealistic. Project leads are expected to just "get it done". -Focus is on the bottom line, not the employees or doing the job right. -Have a lot of fancy mission statements, values, and buzzwords- but it's all talk. None of it is implemented effectively. -Upper managers are being hired and put in charge of projects they have no experience with. What could possibly go wrong? -Don't reward loyalty or good work. No recognition of a job well done. -Was told to evaluate a system and alternative options. Once in the "evaluation" meeting, I was told there would be no evaluation process and we were going with choice A, so make it work (even if that wasn't the best option for the business). -Eliminated the mid-year and yearly review process, so now employees have no idea how they are being evaluated. -Passed over individuals who were SMEs for career enhancing activities (like going to conferences, leading projects or trainings, etc.) so that they could send their "favorite" employees. -Promoted individuals to roles they had no business having based on their experience.
