Pros
If I say the snacks is that cliche?
Cons
I echo what so many other reviews have put: this is a DC chop shop zombie-corporation going by with little board oversight, employee apathy and/or fear of the CEO, and a nightmarish obsession with "details matter" on everything from the margins of your powerpoint deck to tiny typos in your emails. There are/were so many deserving and brilliant people at this company, the fact that money is going to this company and this CEO instead of each of the talented people I worked with (who would be much wiser to start a company of their own) is completely backwards. The level of meticulousness seeps into the employees to the point where everything became a joke: management of the office was lazy, HR was ignorant to the root causes or too scared to say anything to management (actually they sometimes went out of their way to shield and hide employees from the CEO, which should tell you enough that they're not confronting the real issue here), and the corporate events that used to be fun when the company was smaller became so forced that a lot of people stopped going. I watched the CEO tell someone to take photos off their desk once because they ruffled the CEO's feathers. The CEO does not "fire" anyone, he strongly encourages them to quit. He complains about Glassdoor on the Internet for pete's sake! Check out his Quillette articles and then see if this is the guy you really want to work with.
