- The CEO, Evelia Villa, was previously the center of an investigation by WCCUSD along with her husband, Jorge Lopez, who was the CEO before her (Nepotism is a huge issue at this school system). This investigation involved telling staff members, who are mandated reporters, to not report child abuse. Google them and read for yourself.
- I want to address "high turnover" - There is no job security at AMPS, except for Evelia Villa. I went through 4 principals in 3 years while working here. There is absolutely no consistency in leadership, leading to chaotic staff experiences where principals are fired in the middle or at the end of the year. This experience extends to teachers as well; I watched plenty of teachers get "let go" if senior leadership didn't like the teacher.
- Lack of honesty and integrity: I watched heads of this organization lie to school boards about credential statuses of teachers in their school, and I watched senior leadership coerce families into protesting at school board meetings by telling families if they don't show up the school board will shut down their school forever.
These are just a FEW instances that highlight the chaotic working conditions at AMPS.
