Pros
When I was in the midst of the roughest time of my life several years ago, our company family was there for me in ways that took my breath away. I am talking about the owners and long-time friends but also about hundreds of other employees throughout our organization. I am and will be forever grateful for their incredible support. My family/kids are #1 for me, but I deeply value my work as well. I look forward to coming into the office every day. I love working alongside such hard-working, talented, nice people. I love learning and improving myself, and there is no shortage of those opportunities here. We are blessed with so many fantastic customers that push our limits, make us better for them and for our entire customer base. Being a privately-held family company, we have the luxury of valuing the long-term vision, both for our customers and for our employees. It’s not unusual to hear about a customer who has been with us for 15-20 years. The same applies for our employees working here. This longevity seems to be a rare commodity these days, and I am thankful that we are in this position. I am proud of our past, enjoying our present, and excited about our future.
Cons
Because we are busy and growing, there are days when it feels like I have too much to do. But I know that I am making a difference here and would not want it any other way. On days like that, I try to remind myself that there is no company without challenges. I prefer positive issues related to growth rather than the opposite side of the coin.
