Pros

Hours are good, benefit package is better than average. Beautiful building and grounds. Members are enjoyable to work with, for the most part.

Cons

Management has their favorites. There are a lot of people there with untapped talents that could be utilized much better. Good workers are unappreciated and overworked until they develop bad attitudes.

Pros

ARA is a good organization to work for. Great camaraderie among most employees, who are all very pleasant and professional. They're also super efficient - a relatively small staff capably manages the needs of a trade association with over 10,000 members. What's more, it's a member-driven association with volunteer leaders elected from among the membership. These volunteer leaders are always enthusiastic with the praise they extend to the headquarters staff for their work, which is very gratifying for employees. Additionally, the organization offers a modern, comfortable working environment, competitive wages and strong benefit packages. Working anywhere in the equipment and event rental industry would be a wise career choice for an individual, really. In recent years the industry has experienced a shortage of quality workers and companies have been very ready to hire. The overall industry has experienced economic growth that has consistently outpaced the national GDP for several years running. Even as the nation emerges from the economic dip caused by COVID-19, the rental industry, while hit hard by this especially on the party/event rental side, is expected to rebound strongly as people recognize the advantage of renting vs. buying supplies for construction, DIY projects or events/weddings.

Cons

Like with any organization, it's unrealistic to say the association or its staff are 100% great all of the time.
