Pros

Small company. No drug testing for employment. Lots of travel. A lot of overtime. They buy all tools. They let us drive company vans. We dont have to wear uniforms. We dont have to do alot of paperwork. The management style is pretty lax and not much supervisor breathing down your neck.

Cons

Minimal training. Lots of very heavy lifting. Hostile environment. Very minimal benefits. High deductible health insurance. Work day and night shifts in same week. The time we work doesn't count toward electrical license. We work with battery acid and it ruins our clothes.

Pros

This company is owned by a larger family-owned company and feels like a family. The parent company has 11,000 employees and still feels like a family. We are a lot smaller, so we get the benefits of small and the benefits of a larger parent that doesn't meddle. Of the 3 companies I've worked for in my 40 yr career, and the many that I've dealt with an visited, this has the happiest employees (including me)

Pros

I’ve been with American Power Systems, LLC for two months now, and I truly can’t say enough positive things about my experience so far. The interview and onboarding process were, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever encountered. From start to finish, there was constant communication, transparency, and even thoughtful welcome gifts that made me feel valued right away. Every person I’ve interacted with has been incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything I’ve needed. It has made transitioning into the role both smooth and enjoyable. I also had the pleasure of attending the AC and DC Batteries 101 training class, which left me amazed at just how much there was to learn about battery power. I walked away far more knowledgeable than I ever expected to be about batteries and DC power. It’s exciting to know that I am part of the critical power industry and contributing to such an essential field. I recently had the opportunity to use my prescription benefits, and I was genuinely impressed—my co-pays were the lowest I’ve seen since the 1990s. That level of benefit really stands out. Overall, I’m extremely grateful to be part of such a supportive, knowledgeable, and well-organized team.

Cons

I have no cons to mention at this time.
