Cons
Disgusting rooms with beer cans, pet hair, vomit, dog pee, poopy diapers, marijuana. Extremely sensitive coworkers who would get offended at either a happy attitude or a neutral one. Was suspended many times because my attitude offended them. Sometimes was told to take the day off because there were not many rooms to clean, and my supervisor wanted to make sure her paycheck was big enough. My coworkers blamed me if anything was missing/dirty in a room. I think they did it to all the new employees. My supervisor made a joke about firing me just to see me upset, and then laughed. My supervisor also would slap my arm if she thought something I said was funny. She would also check in with me every few hours of the day, and tell me I was not going fast enough if she finished her rooms before me. Several times my supervisor gave me a day off and then called me on my day off to tell me to come to work because there were more rooms to clean than she had expected. Then she would threaten to write me up for not coming in on my day off. Manager would not order sufficient disposable gloves. We would run out and the manager would tell us to use these plastic gloves with fabric mesh that let water through. We were not protected from dirty toilet water. It's very difficult to get PTO approved. Management would straight up lie to my face that I would get it, and then not give it. One time they pranked the manager and recorded him getting scared.
