Pros

The only good thing about working at Amcomm Wireless is that the store locations (at least the one I worked in) look very professional, clean, and well maintained. Looks good on a resume, and occasionally you will work with people you can tolerate to work with.

Cons

Before I begin, I would like to say that I was not fired from Amcomm, I simply was tired of the way this company was run and I took a position elsewhere. Unfortunately the cons of working at Amcomm are a mile long. First they have no idea how to hire a decent employee, the company has a revolving door. I worked with Amcomm for over a year and in that time I worked with former convicts, drug addicts, alcoholics, and none of that seems to be an issue to upper management. Amcomm does everything it can to not hand out a raise, they will avoid it like the plague no matter how well you perform. I know they still have employees that have worked for them over 2 years time and still have not been awarded with a raise. Amcomm hires a flood of new employees every year in hopes to be able to lay off older ones and not have to hand out raises or benefits packages to new ones. If you have no previous wireless experience you will have a difficult time working for Amcomm as there is little to no training what so ever within their company. I am willing to bet that there is not one employee that could tell you the main features of every phone on the floor. Amcomm does not understand the importance of moral within a store location, low moral will give you low sales numbers. Amcomm cares nothing about their employees and bases all of its firing decisions on profitability, no matter if you are tardy every day, don't get along with coworkers, take extended lunch breaks, avoid customers that you don't want to deal with, or bring personal issues into the store on a regular basis. Nobody that works at Amcomm wants to be working at Amcomm, and you don't have to take my word for it, if you can talk to a current employee tell them you read this review and you want to know if they like working for Amcomm. Upper management is clueless, they couldn't tell you the first thing about any of the products on the floor unless they read it in a brochure. Human Resources department is impossible to get in contact with mainly due to the fact that they are always quitting or seeking employment elsewhere. Don't be fooled by false promises of huge commission checks, Amcomm combines your commission check with your bi-weekly paycheck in order to save money. When your checks are combined you get hit with huge tax penalties that will eat up most of your commission check that you busted your ass for all month long. Inventory is a constant issue, phones not in stock, accessories not in stock, whatever the case may be. Upper management cares nothing about what the in store managers have to say, often asking them opinions and going the complete opposite direction 95% of the time. The wireless industry can be an extremely lucrative and rewarding career, but not at Amcomm. Don't expect to make more than 28-29k a year before taxes, which as I stated earlier you will be taxed like never before.
