Pros

- I thoroughly enjoy driving. This is a perfect job for people who would like to drive for hours around various parts of your city, like I do. - It's very nice to pick your shift time.

Cons

- Don't expect compensation for overtime work, even when it's completely amazon's fault. - Regardless of your situation (even medical emergencies), you will be penalized if you don't meet amazon's expectations. - More details below: There have been two big instances where I was penalized by amazon when I should not have been penalized: 1. I had an unexpected medical emergency and couldn't make it to a shift on time. I called amazon explaining my situation but they still lowered my "overall standing" (a 'grading scale' that shows amazon whether you're a good employee or not). 2. I finished my shift 2 hours after I was supposed to because amazon was an hour late to giving me my route at the warehouse, AND they gave me extra packages on my route so I had to drive them all back to the warehouse after. I have called twice and emailed three separate times to receive compensation and they keep denying my request. Despite calling and emailing amazon many different times the day of, and days preceding these two events, amazon has done nothing but send me the same email saying I deserve no compensation and should refer to their amazon flex guidelines.

Pros

Lots of routes available to drive using your own vehicle, both in early morning and in the evenings. Get paid the same day that you drive. Routes are usually pretty tight so you're not doing a lot of long distances between stops.

Cons

Low pay for the amount of miles you'll have to drive. You may average about 20-25 an hour, depending on how long of a block you sign up for. But you'll end up spending at least 1.5 hours pay to put back into your gas tank. You can't choose the area you want to drive in, it's chosen randomly for you. So you could be clear across five counties from the starting point.
