Pros

Great product/market fit Good sales and product training

Cons

No clear career path Literally no HR Quota is extremely difficult to achieve, and leadership provides little flexibility for factors outside of your control (such as territory and lead distribution). Management prioritizes quota over ethics and team morale: rule-breaking and inappropriate behavior go unaddressed if numbers are good. Shout-outs for hitting quota often backfire, creating unhealthy competition. Quotas don’t account for territory, inbound leads, or the fact that not everyone gets to attend conferences and generate new opportunities. If you attend a conference, you are expected to cover all expenses upfront and reimbursement can take up to two months (and may require follow-up).Hotel accommodations will require room sharing with executives, which is very uncomfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for calling out the positives. We’re really proud of our product–market fit and the training foundation we’ve built for the sales team. We also acknowledge that growing and operating within a fast-moving tech company can feel messy at times. As we scale, we’re deeply committed to the iteration of our programs and we’re excited to have recently welcomed two new folks to our Operations team who will partner directly with leadership to build upon our people programs and HR focused support. You’ve raised fair points about quota expectations, travel logistics, and conference policies, all of which our leaders continue to build and refine in an effort to ensure they remain fair, motivating, and sustainable as we grow, all with the employee experience in mind. Finally, while we recognize that transitions and adapting to new management can be challenging, we have full confidence in our leaders and our goal is to foster a culture that balances performance with empathy. We’re incredibly proud of the hard work that our leadership teams put in every day to make Alternative Payments a great place to work. We greatly appreciate your feedback! Startups are built by people who care enough to speak up, and that matters to us.

Pros

Alternative Payment moves fast — in a good way. You’re given real ownership early, and there’s a ton of room to learn if you take initiative. The team’s super supportive, leadership’s transparent, and everyone’s pulling in the same direction. It’s the kind of place where you get out what you put in.

Cons

Fast pace means priorities can shift quickly, so it helps to be adaptable.

Pros

Working at Alternative Payments is the kind of experience that reminds you why you joined a start-up in the first place. The pace is fast, the problems we solve are challenging, and the people are exceptional. There’s a contagious energy across the company. Everyone is driven, curious, and genuinely passionate about building the next great FinTech business. The culture strikes a balance between collaboration and autonomy. You’re trusted to own your work and you're encouraged to share ideas, regardless of title or tenure. Performance actually matters here. Hard work and results are recognized quickly, and career growth feels entirely merit-based. The team is very innovative. The team constantly challenges assumptions, iterates fast, and celebrates creativity. The environment is demanding, but in the best way: you’re surrounded by smart people who push you to think bigger and move faster. Some other thoughts: - Compensation is very good for a start-up - Leadership is transparent with business performance and results - Strong performers are promoted quickly and given increased responsibility

Cons

Fast pace can be intense. Things move quickly, and priorities can shift overnight. It’s exciting, but not for everyone. Processes are still evolving, so you have to be comfortable building as you go. Like any scaling start-up, some systems and workflows are still catching up with growth.
