Pros

- as an advocate you get the opportunity to make a difference. Dealing with the Membersn gives for some emotional touching interactions - opportunity for growth (If you play by the rules) - the people/ Altegra health employees are some truly dedicated and remarkable professionals

Cons

- don't expect growth unless you're rubbing elbows with the right people. Play nice or you will be over looked - pay is no where near competitive and pay ranges have very little to do with experience or capability and more with "how much did the person who hired you like you, on a personal level" - production employees are thought of as disposable. Little investment is made in their success. No ongoing training. Basically, here's what you have to do, now go do it. Crash and burn? Who cares, you're replacable - management has ZERO leadership skills. Individuals are promoted for "playing nice" and get no training on how to be quality leaders. - Not even close to advocating fair pay for women

Pros

When the work is there is a good place to get your feet wet as a coder. The salary is low while you are slow but once you get your speed up it is ok.

Cons

Pay is extremely low unless you are very fast and if you are fast enough to make good pay you won't make your 95% accuracy. The worst thing is you will be working your tail off and then suddenly there will be no work. I am a current remote coder, at least as far as being able to log on to the systems, but I haven't worked in over 2 months with no explanation from management and no communication about expected work in the future. In fact the so-called advocate I was assigned won't even respond to me. It is not fair that you are laid off and they don't even tell you. They just don't give you any work. A few of the coders with the highest QA scores are getting a little bit of work but most of us get none. Very poor communication and very poor consistency. They won't even tell you if you need to look for another job. Poor ongoing training.
