If you thrive in an environment fueled by burnout and blame, this company may be for you. There is no clear vision, just constant chaos they call “pivoting.” Every decision feels reactive, and the lack of planning from executive leadership is obvious and exhausting.
They’ll tell you roles have clearly defined DORs, but the truth is everyone is responsible for everything—especially when things go wrong. There's no autonomy, and micromanagement is extreme. You’re expected to follow orders without question, even when they don’t make sense for your team or your business.
Their turnover is the worst I’ve seen in retail. Store leaders/assistants are worked into the ground (50+ hours a week is expected), and there’s no relief or appreciation. You’re constantly under pressure, and the workload is unsustainable. Most stores can’t retain leadership for more than a few months.
There’s no real path for career growth. Training and development take a back seat to compliance. PTO is nearly impossible to use, and you’re lucky if you get two full days off a month without being pulled onto another conference call from home.
The number of pointless conference calls is absurd—it’s clear the company doesn’t plan ahead. Decisions feel like they are made last minute, with poor communication and lots of scrambling. Stores are left to clean up the mess created from the top.
Don’t expect visits from senior leadership to be helpful. Surprise pop-ins from VPs or even the CEO are common, and they always create more stress than support. When they show up, good luck.
