Pros

My own employees. I have met some lovely people throughout the company during the time I was there but unfortunately majority of them quit due to circumstances below.

Cons

Pay for management would typically be considered competitive until you realize that you were lied to about the hours you have to work and what the job consists of. You're required to clock at least 45, being paid on salary at only 40. In actuality, clocking the week at a min of 50 hours was a dream when majority of my weeks consisted of 13+ hour days and 60+ hour weeks. The managers salary does not add up to the amount of work you have to put in and life you have to give up. They also expect this of their salary assistants manager who are severely under paid at almost $15,000 less than the Managers but required the same amount of hours and work load. They give you minimal payroll to ensure that only salary is ever on the clock so they can over work us and not have to pay for it. There were some weeks where we had giant markdowns and floor sets together over a 2-3 periods where all salary was literally having to work 24 hours straight, graveyard shifts multiple days in a row, but also having to work normal hours to run your store. Then you're berated by corporate for not being able to finish by their due date when they've set you up for failure. Corporate sends you last minute projects with due dates on a daily bases so that you can't plan anything and basically don't even have time to run your store and assist your customers. There is no training, structure, consistency, or brains behind this company. Corporate has absolutely no rhyme or reason behind anything. They're completely unrealistic in their expectations of employees which is why their turn over rate is the highest I've ever even heard of. Management positions dropped on a daily basis and yet they behaved as if they couldn't understand why. All of the young female "models" seen on their website and advisement are in positions in home office. They hire these too young and inexperienced girls for these positions in home office so that they don't have to pay for both employees and models. It's clear that with the minimal positions that home office does consist of, no one with a head on their shoulder is in place. All of the "executives" from corporate office are extremely disrespectful, dense minded, neglectful, and non solution oriented. They continuously promise "changes" yet they never get into motion. The Christian and Mission based cloak are just terms they use to manipulate employees into thinking that they're working 60+ hour weeks for a better cause. My time with these people and this company was honestly shocking. It was an absolute nightmare and the worst experience of my life. I soulfully regret bringing my knowledge, skill sets, time, and energy to them. You will not be supported or appreciated in any way and you will be required to give your life and soul up for this job. Leaving this company is the best decision I have ever made. I highly advise anyone looking into it or approached to walk away.

Pros

Literally nothing, can’t think of one positive thing

Cons

I’ve been with the company for years and watching its continuous downfall has become almost comical. Two years ago we took major pay cuts (like 15%) because of the economy but this year they sent us to the Virgin Islands on this over the top meeting that must have cost a fortune. I’d rather have the money in my bank versus a trip I was forced to go on with senior leadership that are absolute horrific people in general and evil businesses people. It all felt like a big propaganda event with tons of videoing and picture taking so they could come home and post all over linked in and social media about how WONDERFUL it is to work there. Don’t even get me started on the new Little House on the Prairie denim dresses we have to wear because they hire managers that aren’t even strong enough to coach to a dress code. How can you run a store if you can’t even tell someone what they’re wearing inappropriate? Instead now we look like a bunch of little followers of the cult everyone already says it is. As long as we say we “stand out for good” at every opportunity it must mean it’s true right? To know who else brainwashed people into thinking bad things are good for them? CULT LEADERS.
