Pros

Incredible professional development and full disclosure culture make this company great. It's a good job as is, but it is an even better launching pad for driven professionals right out of college who don't quite know what they want to do when they "grow up." It's hard, but you WILL grow while being here. There is no negotiation of salaries, as people are compensated fairly, and that way they don't have to worry about others making double theirs. Past colleagues of mine who left had candid conversations with their managers months before leaving, and AS actually helped them discover and find roles that suited them while they still actively worked here. The two in mind were actually very strong performers and liked the job, but they just didn't see themselves being here when they were 30 and wanted to try new things. For those that do want to stay and do well, the company keeps its promises for elevations. It is very much possible and expected for new associates to be promoted to managers on their expected plan of two years which is an extremely early title to achieve as a 23-25 year old. People really do grow SO much as professionals while here, learning so many micro-efficiency pieces to optimize their work to be faster and faster, and I think that's why they go on to do such incredible things. I truly believe the AS alumni network to be far stronger than most college networks. Former colleagues are extremely open to career conversations and willing to help!

Cons

It's a hard job. If you found your highly academic and elite school to be "too easy" then this will probably be a good fit for you. Typical days require a unique combo of well-thought-out research planning as well as outbound sales activities over phone and email. It's a very rare combo which is great experience, but it is difficult to balance time and energy when you're delivering on client requests. After 6-8 months of helping deliver on asks for your team, it does become a role requiring individual client coverage. Our clients are extremely busy people, so sometimes emails will come after 8:30pm and need a response before 9. The hours are pretty firmly 8am-6pm but actually have pretty solid flexibility within to take breaks, lunch, walks etc. for ~60-90 minutes per day depending on team, the issue is you'll have so much to do, and it can definitely feel like you are "always on" during the day. The company is in person first, so it will require moving to SF or NY to even be considered unless you are purely IT or some other specialist function.

Pros

Rapid Progression & Recognition: Performance is directly rewarded here. If you hit your goals and show drive, the path to promotion and career growth is transparent and fast. Strong Team Culture: The team energy is fantastic. Everyone is highly collaborative, supportive, and commercially minded, which makes for a great working environment. High Autonomy: From day one, you are given real ownership over your projects (like leading recruitment events, managing candidates, and driving partnerships), allowing you to grow your commercial skills rapidly.

Cons

High Velocity & Pressure: The work is very fast-paced with strict timelines and high-volume expectations. It is not a place where you can coast, and you need to be comfortable working under commercial pressure. Resilience is Key: Sourcing and recruiting require a great deal of resilience. You have to be comfortable with rejection and persistent in finding creative solutions to hit your targets.
