Pros
Free food for dinner and break times, albeit in small quantities and little variety. Plenty of work to go around; no zero-hour contract scenarios. Overtime is part and parcel of the job if you want it. Excellent working relations between colleagues, 99% will offer help or are pleasant to work with.
Cons
The way in which specific management/shift leaders speak to their staff is unbelievable. Several ex-staff members have cited this as their primary reason for leaving! Throughout the building this appauling mistreatment is widely known but nothing is ever done about it. Certain long-serving employees are unwilling to pull their weight but because they have been employed for so long they tend to get away with it and allow the work to be placed upon the newer members of staff. Again this is widely known of but nothing is ever done to change their ways. The company expectation often outweighs the wages that are paid. Unfair differences in pay, for example some staff will recieve double time for working bank holidays whereas some staff will not, this despite the non-paid employee being a longer serving member of staff and working exactly the same amount of hours on said bank holiday. Poor communication between different departments often leads to mistakes and can create a divide at times.
