Cons
Toxic volunteer culture - volunteers drive decision making and often make decisions that aren’t in best interest of general membership. There are a lot of political dynamics, staff have little to no voice in decisions, and there is no accountability against volunteer behavior like bullying, discrimination, or procedure/policy violations. Organization says diversity is priority but has key volunteer leadership who continue to hinder progress and dismiss experiences of harm. Staff are underpaid and overworked.
