Pros
Stable company, wide range of analytical techniques with lots of experience to gain. Relaxed dress code amongst lab staff (jeans, T-shirt etc). Good perks. Once you get your foot in the door you can move around within the company.
Cons
Degrading place to work. Management have no respect whatsoever to employees. If you try to use an assertive tone when you disagree with something you're labelled as being aggressive and argumentative! If you want to get somewhere, become a brown noser and sook up to the boss. Communication/listening is expected to be in tip top condition. If you don't communicate/listen in the way that management want you to then they will come down on you like a ton of bricks! If you stay late to get work done you're labelled as someone who cannot manage time properly. Very strong blame culture! Management always on the witch hunt if they don't think that you are toeing the line with them. Very stressful work environment - no one should ever have to feel the dread of going into work the following day! Also no one should ever have to feel so stressed out that it has a profound affect on health. If management think you're not performing to their expectations they will make no bones about it and make your life a misery! Management think that they are a law onto themselves, they think they're so above it! They are so obsessed with budgets/timelines, that's all they care about. They don't care about employees whatsoever! Frankly, it's no wonder as to why people leave! Company politics leaves a lot to be desired!
