Pros
1. Make own hours
2. Work from home
Cons
WOW, I'm not sure where to begin. I worked at Allume for about a year and a half, it was truly one of the most unorganized places I've ever worked. Yes, it is a start-up and some issues are expected. The styling, itself, was very fun, and I do recommend styling to anyone who is interested. I would just go with a different company.
The cons are they have very high expectations of you, and are constantly changing things that could affect your metrics. They don't care if the reason your clients are leaving is because of something they did. They will "uncontract" you. Not to mention, the application we use to style people, "ANNA" is so slow, and constantly has issues, and we are accountable for "ANNA" breaking down. Third, our engineers/HQ that we are suppose to submit problems, take days to respond, making our customers upset that we don't have an answer or are taking a long time to respond. I've had four ASM's since working here, and the cycle through people very quickly. They don't value employees. They don't communicate well. They don't care about their customers, putting them first-is the last thing on their agenda.
Also, they laid off a ton of stylists, most of them were blindsided considering, we have no idea so many people were being let go. They gave very little information, and failed to answer a lot of questions. It is a VERY shady situation for everyone involved.
Overall, just don't waste your time working here.
