Great brand. Many folks are really talented smart people who want to do great work, enjoy team-work. Very fun tech challenges. Incredible scale - you're building services for millions of users across the world. Cool, right? Nice bright office right downtown - bus service is great; parking's expensive. Start-up quality perks: Beer, ping-pong, seltzer, apples, parties.
Cons
I am not one of the many who complained when Allrecipes was bought by Meredith corporation a few years ago. Change happens; stop looking back, you'll just trip on something. Unfortunately, the corporate culture and processes are putting big strain on the team and their ability to move quickly and be empowered. Corporate decisions are made without full information, impacting product and the ability to hire and advance people. Financial dictates force short-term thinking. Good-old-boy politics abound.
