The people is mainly where the good ends. The reason why I only stayed 1-year was mainly due to my compensation being extremely low salary wise within a corporate services team that I worked with as they relied on a higher than average bonus (up to 20% or more in rare cases) to entice you into staying. Additionally, they were not honest with their titles and responsibilities. They will have you doing mundane work while you carry a fancy title. For example, a senior analyst is considered a VP at AlixPartners. Finally, the work life balance just wasn't there. They provide you with a phone for a reason.
If you aren't on the consulting side, you are a cost center and they don't care as much about you.
