Pros
Phenomenal work environment, flexible, and encouraging.
Cons
Not as much room for growth.
Pros
- Great teammates. Everyone is aligned towards a common vision. - Great communication between departments, and no "silos" - Expectations and KPIs are clear - "The best idea wins" culture/mindset... no hubris or arbitrary decision making based on subjective, unknown factors. - "We're all learning together" culture/mindset -lots of experimentation and failing upward.
Cons
- Lack of tolerance for complacency... if you're looking to cruise and be laid back about progress, this is not the place. - Aggressive, but not unreasonable, growth targets.
Pros
- Innovative product and some great colleagues in the company - CEO is visionary and open to new ideas - Fast interview process (though rushed; you must clarify team expectations early as there are many unwritten rules) - Learned valuable lessons about managing expectations, workplace red flags, and psychological safety - Felt relief after leaving due to the psychological toll
Cons
- Poor experience due to immediate team leadership, not the company or CEO - Public ambush from VP being secretly invited during 1:1 check-ins, creating a psychological unsafe environment - Payroll error on first paycheck, with no apology - Promised onboarding plan was not followed; expected to contribute immediately without adequate ramp-up time - Many unwritten expectations (e.g., time off reflects poorly on you, 9–5 active Slack status despite HR saying 10-3pm and otherwise flexible hours) - Micromanagement and tracking (e.g., Slack status, checking Google Doc history) created a culture of distrust - Feedback was inconsistent and contradictory (e.g., told to over-communicate, then discouraged from doing so) - Use of AI tools increased unrealistic expectations despite known flaws - Innovation discouraged within the team - Denied time off and let go for supposedly not taking the job seriously - Overall, poor alignment with team leadership and a lack of support for success
