Pros
Prior to Alegion, I was working in a position that was comfortable, but felt like a rut and generally boring. I chose Alegion to be a part of a startup again and to work in an exciting area of an emerging technology. In those respects, Alegion exceeded my expectations. What I didn't expect was to be part of such an amazing team. Across the organization, I work with colleagues who are excellent are what they do and just interesting and fun to work with.
To sum it up:
- Excellent culture and colleagues
- Getting to work on the inside of emerging tech that will change the world
- Awesome location if you want to work in a a central part of Austin
- Getting to be a part of a true startup with potential for a big future
Cons
- Parking can be a minor hassle, but isn't that almost anywhere in Austin
- Alegion is a startup. The same qualities that make startups desirable may not be attractive to you if you want the structure and added perks of a larger more established organization
