Pros

The only thing that I could think of as a positive aspect of working at Alcimed was the types of projects, which were varied and quite interesting in the majority of the cases.

Cons

The list of things that are wrong at Alcimed is quite long. My advice to any future applicants is to run in the opposite direction. Alcimed is not worth your sanity or health, because the management and the people around you will push you beyond your limits. The culture in the offices is very French and not meritocratic. Management is extremely bad to the extent that some months, your salary will be paid in late. Like I said earlier, the list is really very long and so please seriously consider all your options before signing up for this nightmare called Alcimed. Extremely high turnaround of people, even when compared to industry wide rate. Something to consider - for a company that started in 1993, it has only expanded into a ~200 people company in over 23 years. This goes to show a lot...a lot is wrong with this company.

Pros

Alcimed works on a very interesting range of projects within the life sciences space. Their clients are very notable in the space and even though projects can be hard they are also very rewarding. If you are someone that enjoys traveling you can expect relatively frequent trips to France and to client locations across the US (particularly northeast). You generally receive a good amount of freedom to do your work (as long as you get your work done on time). They are heavily invested in to ESG/climate initiatives and they make that a core component of their values.

Cons

I don’t appreciate their stance on wfh, being that it will never move 1.5 days from home. I think having a half day is generally not useful since you still have to go to office at some point. I think they generally offer lower pay compared to other consulting companies, but to be fair, comparing them to a big 4 consulting company may not be the best comp.
