Pros

Finally, Alamy has full time MD, thanks to PA management…. New MD seems to be very dedicated, transparent and honest, really like her bi-weekly updates unlike previous part-time CEO/management misguided and manipulated by HR Hope PA group will bring new & exciting opportunities for Alamy employees with their own ideas & decisions

Cons

Biggest problem is some of their archaic leadership team members particularly HR. HR is very famous for using buzzwords like transparency, cost saving, HPT, employee empowerment and honesty but they completely do opposite of what they say. Examples… HR come up with policies but don’t even follow in their own department. They never conduct anonymous surveys (always by office/department etc) HR talk about cost saving, retrenched and furloughed low salaried employees in last year and this year but spending money on giving big salary hikes to unmerited employees based on their gut feeling. All their decisions are based on Subjectivity absolutely no objectivity. Successful companies from all over the world are going to other countries for cost saving (offshore) but we are going in opposite direction by Spending big money on hiring UK based recruitment agencies, Agile coaches and Trainers. HR is the most inefficient overstaffed department at Alamy UK with sluggish decision making, involve in everything except HR activities, no clarity in what they say or present, never get a straight and honest answer to any question (Ex: buying additional holidays & furlough) No respect for in-house expertise or talent, if you talk to them, you feel like you are worthless and they openly discriminate by gender. Please don’t waste time thinking about who wrote this review, save Almay by taking right decisions

Thank you for submitting a review and sharing your opinions. We actively encourage feedback at Alamy to help us improve as a leadership team and as a business. A couple of years ago we stepped up our investment in HR, the learning programme, continuous development, and Wellbeing. The response and the feedback from our People Leaders and from our staff has been overwhelmingly positive. As a business we value transparency and fairness enormously, in line with our values. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, and we would take immediate action if there was any evidence to suggest that this had been the case. If you still work for us, I would strongly encourage you to raise your concerns through the usual channels, or to me directly if you prefer, so that we can address them. Thank you and kind regards Emily Shelley Managing Director
