Pros
Work life balance Employee benefits are generally good Colleagues are fantastic Take health and safety very seriously (one of the company values) Invest heavily in charity/charitable events Own a lot of well known brands and products are high quality Some good product innovation in recent years despite stagnant market conditions
Cons
Local decisions contradict corporate strategy which puts departments at heads with one another Too much bureaucracy Too much control desired by Amsterdam without understanding local operations Current 15 by 20 strategy is short-sighted as we appear to be embarking on a penny-wise, pound foolish culture e.g. getting rid of experienced heads, bringing in less experienced (cheaper) heads and then allowing poor decisions (costly) to be made Bonus is non-existent for the past few years - local support function bonuses are tied to global performance which is totally stupid as sales and marketing counterparts are not HR may as well be a robotic chat bot as they are nigh on useless on most matters A lot of reactionary thinking and not enough pro-activeness - 15 by 20 is a perfect example of this as it only came about after the PPG bid.
