Pros

Airwallex represents a lot of opportunity to be part of something big, with global scale. There are a lot of very talented people with a drive to do good work in a challenging domain. Management of development, especially in Melbourne is some of the best I have come across, especially given the circumstances (see Cons). There are great technical challenges you wont find anywhere else.

Cons

Going from zero (0) to incredible growth in three (3) years is not without its scars. Both in terms of people and technical legacy. Some things need changing and these are being addressed by Management, however they will take time to change given the size, speed of the ship and having two core development centres of different cultures.

1. Leadership is scattered throughout the world and has different priorities 2. Stop chasing the new shiny object and stick with what works and what got us here

Pros

Working at Airwallex has been an incredibly rewarding experience, especially as part of the sales team. The company is in a very strong growth phase, which makes it an exciting place to be. Over the past few years, Airwallex has scaled rapidly, processing hundreds of billions in payments annually. There are clear career progression opportunities if you perform. Leadership is supportive of internal mobility, and high performers are recognized and promoted. You’re surrounded by smart, driven colleagues who are collaborative and willing to help, which creates a motivating environment day to day.

Cons

Like most high-growth companies, things can move fast and change quickly, which may not suit everyone. There can be pressure to perform given the pace and ambition of the company.
