Pros

As Aira transitions from a start-up to a scale-up, it’s an exciting opportunity to shape not just the customer experience, but the business itself — and to get things right, first time. The pace is fast, the culture is agile, and the team is united by a clear mission: to decarbonise the UK, one home at a time. Our HR team has introduced a strong benefits package, especially around health and wellbeing. I’ve used the Doctors Online service multiple times for same or next-day appointments for both myself and my family, with prescriptions sent directly to our preferred pharmacy — a real time-saver. There’s also a generous cashback allowance for medical expenses (like dental care, prescriptions, and therapy), which means I’m not left out of pocket. Even when deadlines loom and things get tough, I know my work is valued and contributing directly to Aira’s growth and long-term success. I’m thoroughly enjoying the journey.

Cons

It’s a high-growth environment with no shortage of priorities, and like many scale-ups, resources can be stretched. I enjoy the variety and wearing multiple hats, but you can only wear one at a time. To thrive, you need to be confident in prioritising and staying focused on outcomes. This pace and environment may be more relevant for those in office-based or cross-functional roles. That said, one of the positives is how quickly we respond to feedback and deliver improvements - it’s impressive to see how quickly things move when needed.

Pros

Really?!? Can’t believe they actually asked - NONE!

Cons

Do not work here. Please, please ignore the recent 4- and 5-star reviews below, they appear to have been written to improve the company’s image rather than reflect the reality of working there. I cannot believe anyone who has genuinely worked here, past or present, would honestly rate it five stars. This is, without question, the worst place I have ever worked. It is a toxic environment where morale is non-existent. The remaining management are spiteful and self-serving. They closed offices across the country and made large numbers of talented, experienced, and respected employees redundant in order to protect their own positions. Many of the people left behind are those with the least knowledge or experience, and promotions seem to be based on favouritism rather than ability. If you want a more accurate picture of what it’s really like to work here, read the older reviews that describe the toxicity, backstabbing, and poor culture. Those reflect my experience far more than the recent glowing reviews. My advice is simple: don’t work here.

Pros

Hybrid working structure and the regional team before redundancies were made.

Cons

The business is severely undermined by poor management and questionable leadership decisions, with individuals being promoted into roles they are clearly not equipped to handle. There is a significant lack of communication between the north and south operations, creating confusion and inefficiency across the company. I was left with minimal support while expected to manage an entire region, taking on responsibilities equivalent to a senior leadership role without any recognition or appropriate remuneration. The culture appears to favour an “inner circle,” with progression often influenced by personal relationships rather than merit, which is both demoralising and unprofessional. Combined with substantial company debt and redundancy decisions that seemed to target the wrong individuals, my experience was ultimately a frustrating misuse of time and effort.
