Pros
- Plenty of good, patient, hard working people in the company who can make working at the company really fun - Longevity and company loyalty are highly valued by management - Most employees are hired for one particular job but end up doing several, meaning you get a lot of experience in a lot of different departments.
Cons
- Don't expect to get a raise after a year. Company management doesn't believe in cost of living increases or inflation, so unless you advocate hard yourself for a raise, and can justify it with an increase in responsibilities, chances are your one year review will come and go with no action. - Company is very last minute in everything that it does so if you are salaried, you can frequently expect to be on your way out the door but be called back in for a last minute project that will take up several more hours of your time - An obvious bias in management attitudes towards individuals with higher education degrees
