There are also some rough departments to work with. It can be quite clique, where no matter your performance, you get put into a box that can be quite difficult to break out of. It is common enough to see a department where the supervisor is chummy with a few employees and disrespectful to the rest. I would recommend to not apply if you are a non native english speaking foreigner or fit the least bit out of the conservative western culture.
