Pros

Good equipment, met couple of cool people

Cons

It was a bitter experience to work there. There's an apparent disconnection between the management and the rest, so the managerial decisions and processes aren't all transparent to everyone in the company. The company claims to be very inclusive, open minded and diverse etc., however, they aren't really able to understand or implement such values. So it feels quite bogus and artificial. Unfortunately two things that reminds me of AS are “Don't question, do as I say” and “We have always been doing it this way”. So they are very closed to the new ideas. There is no space for conversation, exchanging ideas and discussion. I experienced constant bossing around, belittling and even making fun! Unbelievable... What a toxic place it was. In my personal opinion, anyone can learn something from anyone. In AS, your voice isn't heard at all if you are a junior. It's very weird. Not every work place is like that. Many other employees were irritated by all these things, yet they were scared to say anything. This is because 99% of the employees are young foreigners and they aren't very familiar with the Finnish way of working. The company brings young foreigner people from other countries, helps them to get resident permits. And then these employees feel in debted to the company. Isn't this exploitation? This contradicts with how they display themselves as equal, Nordic, diverse and so on. They are very biased, and also skeptical for anything new. Some of them don't even know how to give and receive feedback, or simply talk to people without being blatant. It isn't a good place for you if you wish to work in a peaceful work environment where everyone respects each other. I believe they need to get rid of the old dead weight and embrace change and novel thinking. No matter how senior someone is, they shouldn't let them be rude to others, just to satisfy their egos. There are other ways to keep them happy.

Agile Search Response
3y
First of all, thanks for sharing your experience. We're glad you liked the equipment but it's unfortunate that you feel this way leaving Agile Search. It's never our intention for people to feel that they have been treated unfairly. Most of our people would probably disagree about our plans, decisions not being transparent. We involved everyone in defining the values, the vision and mission of the company. We involved people in the long term planning and we always involve everyone in the yearly planning and half year planning review. We also update everyone on the progress in delivery, sales, human resources, recruitment, marketing and even finances on a weekly basis during the weekly meetings. Most of the decisions are made together with the employees. I believe the incident you are referring to that makes you feel so sour about the experience with us relates to the very beginning of your time with us. You were new to recruitment when you joined us and we onboarded you for two weeks and assigned you to work as an embedded recruiter together with a highly experienced tech recruiter (who has been working here for more than 5 years), so you could learn and receive guidance from a senior recruiter. Unfortunately, 1 week into that assignment, you started to question the work of our senior recruiter and acted in a disrespectful way towards them. We stepped in and gently informed you that you should trust the advice and recommendations from your more senior colleague. We also told you that new ideas are good to have and raise, but if someone senior to you listens to you and still refers to the client's requirements and expectations, you should have the ability to listen and follow instructions. Once again, you came into a clinch with the senior recruiter creating a lot of stress and a poor atmosphere with your coworker, putting the client relationship at risk. We then had to have another meeting with you to give you very clear and concrete feedback, so that you would hopefully understand that you need to learn the recruiter job and gain some experience before challenging someone more senior than you as well as the client. Considering the harm done, we decided to switch you out of the case and put you on other assignments to groom you and give you the benefit of the doubt. It seems you never got over that first conflict and lacked the self-awareness to realise how your way of interacting with others affects collaboration with your colleagues. One of our core values is innovation and we constantly innovate. Some of those innovations have led us to start another business unit within IT consulting, an academy and more, in the last couple of years. A big part of successful innovation is also to recognize good ideas from bad ideas and we are quite good at doing so. Unfortunately it means that not everyone's idea is the right one to move forward with. As for "utilizing" international employees, we've always believed in international talent and given people chances, both ones that were already in Sweden/Finland and people who were interested in relocating to the Nordics. We’ve always believed in the value of international teams with people of different backgrounds and experiences, and we offer market based compensation - if not, we would not be able to sponsor the visas and work permits of these employees, so this is simply not true. We're leading the way and have always been challenging the status quo when it comes to hiring international talent. We have been pushing our clients in that direction for years and we're finally seeing some changes. We wish you all the best ahead and perhaps a chance to re-evaluate yourself in your next job.

Pros

When I first joined Agile Search, I was scared because I came from a different area and with little tech and recruitment experience. Tech recruiting sounded extremely interesting and a great fit for what I wanted to do but, at the same time, there was (and there is) plenty to learn. Regardless of this, these months have been amazing and everyone in the team is helpful and supportive. What struck me the most: - Transparency - we all get weekly updates on every area and plenty of freedom to ask anything from anyone. - Flexibility - no one cares what time you clock in, or leave. You have your job, your tasks, and your goals. Time and place don't matter. - Incredible support from the team - you are never alone! - Managers and team leads truly care about everyone, are always available to talk, open to feedback and discuss anything. - We all come from different countries and we all truly care about creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace. - When we discuss ideas or plans, there's no person who is not interested. We all wanna make the company a better workplace day after day. - When you join, regardless of your role and seniority, your ideas are heard, appreciated, and taken into account. You feel part of the company from day 1. I can only be thankful for the great opportunity, for the constant support, for everything that I have been learning and for giving me the opportunity to work on different projects from the first day!

Cons

None in particular at this point. Clearly, there are processes and aspects to improve but we continuously work to make that happen.

Pros

Hires both Senior recruiters as well as Junior recruiters and facilities virtual coaching sessions and online learning. There is an environment of trust, transparency, progression, and flexibility. Interesting clients in the Nordics such as Klarna, Shibsted, Kivra. There are people from all over the world on the team. It is a truly diverse team, around 30 different nationalities and everybody is inclusive and friendly as a company should be. Provides great opportunities to foreign newcomers academics in Sweden and Finland Celebrates good annual results with non-work-related-company trips to a foreign country. Very flexible with remote work and hybrid work.

Cons

When working in-house with clients the workload can get intense at times depending on the case. The agency is growing fast lately as well as all the clients. I would not recommend it to someone that likes a strict working structure and have many processes in place, you need to have the initiative to do things yourself while still knowing when to reach out for assistance or advice.
