Pros

Pros? Not one pro.

Cons

Culture: people don’t communicate, don’t smile, don’t joke, and don’t support one another. If you laugh too often you must not have enough work to do. It’s very formal. The culture is forced not authentic. Employees are unhappy. Everyone is tense, employees are watched and whispered about constantly. You will often hear management badmouthing your co-workers and overhear negative conversations about you, but no one will talk to you directly about your performance or any issues, even if you ask. You are not treated like an individual. You are treated as a disposable. People in the office still cry and feel beaten down and deflated by management. The Boys Club: Women make up 80% of the office and 0% of management. They pass over qualified candidates for “not being memorable” which is another way to say they look homely. There is a constant level of disrespect for females in the office. Confident women are labeled as aggressive. Phrases like “put down the dagger” and “no need to get emotional” are said to female employees who defend the client, the work, or speak up about the sweatshop like conditions. Then there’s the mansplaining. So much of it. Men are regularly asked to step into conversations because “she doesn’t understand what I’m saying”. Basically if you have something important to say at AC, let a man say it. CEO: Emotionally reactive. The toxicity within the agency stems from the top. Frequent outburst and bad communication makes the agency feel like a war zone. Everybody is afraid of his outbursts, so they keep their heads low and try to stay out of his way. Be careful, he holds grudges. Often for things you didn’t know offended him. Rather than speaking directly to you about an issue (which would give you the chance to sort it out or defend yourself) he will jump to conclusions, talk behind your back, ask fellow employees to spy on you or interrogate them until they get Brendan Dassey’d and report on you negatively. He instills a culture of fear and blame. Employees often throw each other under the bus. It’s how the people who have lasted the longest here survive. Watch out. Management: they skip internal reviews and client meetings to vacation, take last minute personal appointments or take naps in their office. Then they step in at the last minute to provide “value”. And by value, we mean throw a wrench in the campaign and cause chaos that’s not in the best interest of the client, but only serves the purpose of stroking their own ego. There is no HR: No resource for employees. No buffer from management.

We are sorry your experience here has left you with a negative impression and wish you only the best. We disagree with a lot in this post. We do take constructive input and we diligently discuss and try to improve many aspects of the company. Changes take time and thought to be sure it meets all goals. We just rolled out an expanded PTO policy and have identified a generous holiday schedule for 2019. We partnered with ADP TotalSource, a PEO group, a few years ago that not only give us many resources in recruitment, HR support needs as well as great benefits to offer the staff. We don't hide behind them or blame them. We are a partner with them and with partners you collaborate and make the best decisions needed for the company and staff as a whole. As far as the comment about HR support, we have an onsite HR staff and ADP has an employee assistance number if you ever feel you need better support and it is listed on the home page of all staffs login screen. We view the staff as our most valuable asset. Additionally, we don't post employee reviews on Glassdoor. It is against the guidelines for Glassdoor and integrity is very important to Agency Creative. Thank you for your service to Agency Creative.

Pros

Working at Agency Creative was a truly career-shaping experience. The team is incredibly talented and well-rounded, bringing different perspectives to every project and pushing each other to produce the best work possible. Leadership is engaged, and constantly challenges you to grow. My time at Agency Creative sharpened my attention to detail, strengthened my strategic thinking, and gave me the confidence to tackle any challenge. I’m grateful for the opportunities and connections I made—I still stay in touch with so many former colleagues and clients.

Cons

While the agency setting naturally comes with long days and late nights, that’s to be expected in this industry, and the experience gained is well worth it.
