Pros
The perceived pros would be an accepting, diverse, tight-knit work environment but that is only a facade. This was the most disrespectful, toxic, and unprofessional work environment I have ever encountered.
Cons
After a *month long*, heavily-involved interview process, I went through five days in my role as digital marketing/social media manager (salaried position). During this grueling gauntlet of disorganization, I was asked to perform countless tasks that were irrelevant to the position as outlined in my official job offer letter. There was clearly a lack of communication between company leaders and amongst the 5 different team members I spoke to/worked with in my limited time, there seemed to be about 6 different interpretations about what they wanted from me and my position. OH! And trying to schedule anything with them was an absolute nightmare. I was an unpaid intern with multiple companies as a college student and yet I never experienced the LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM and the BLATANT DISRESPECT I endured while working with Agave and Rye. I seriously felt like I was getting high school bullied on a corporate level while my livelihood was at stake. This company has no structure, has NO IDEA what it wants, and is doomed if they don't get their act together in the very near future. The only members of this so-called "family" who offered me any kindness or professionalism were a new HR hire as well as the odd server/host. Company culture is toxic, cliquey, and snobbish. Despite upper-management's efforts to force the label of "Epic Family" onto their employees, it is clear from the moment you join the team that no one buys into the idea of family (or of liking each other for that matter). I could go on about this nightmare organization but instead I'll offer some brief yet impassioned advice: Don't ignore the red flags and the other negative employee reviews you see here on this site. This company is pure toxicity under a paper-thin facade comprised of some eclectic aesthetics and mid-tier tacos.
