Pros

The team of hard-working, talented, kind, amazing women that also have the unfortunate experience of working at AGC.

Cons

-The CEO is a micromanager who lacks any real industry knowledge. They lorded their power over employees while clearly not understanding the core business. -There is a complete lack of trust in employees. The company installed spyware on all work computers to monitor people's activities, but did not disclose this upfront. I had to find vaguely worded statements buried in the handbook. It seems the CEO and her husband spent most time watching what employees did instead of actual work. -Despite marketing themselves as progressive, the company's actions are the opposite of their stated values around conservation and inclusion. It's all greenwashing lies. -Poor management across the board. Organizational chaos reigns with no coherent vision or strategy. Just reactive pandering to the CEO's whims. -The CEO uses "gifts" as a tactic to get people to stay when they know employees are leaving in droves. -Extremely high turnover rates. In my short time, 6 people quit due to the toxic environment. -Remote work policies are a joke. Allegedly remote but you're confined to your home office via IP tracking. Seemed to be abandoning remote hiring. -Work/life balance is non-existent. On-call constantly during May-October field season with no extra pay. -Extremely limited PTO usage from May-October. Can't take more than one day off during peak months. Forget unplugging if you value the outdoors. In summary, run far away from this workplace dumpster fire unless you enjoy toxicity, burnout and erosion of work-life balance. I'm relieved I escaped.

Pros

- You'll work alongside an incredibly passionate team of like-minded people who genuinely care about the mission and supporting one another. - The staff and guides are the strongest part of the company.

Cons

- The company suffers from inconsistent leadership and excessive micromanagement from the CEO. - Time off is heavily scrutinized and may be referenced during performance discussions, creating pressure around using earned benefits. - The CEO frequently changes priorities, trip offerings, and organizational structures, often resulting in wasted work, confusion, and frustration for all parties. - Accountability is often pushed downward, while constructive feedback and difficult conversations are delegated to others. - Despite being a travel company, there is a strong emphasis on being vigilantly at your computer. - Benefits are below average, and employees are expected to keep pace with AI-driven productivity standards that can feel unrealistic. The company also relies on employee monitoring software that captures screenshots throughout the workday, contributing to a culture of distrust. - There is significant turnover, limited receptiveness to feedback, and a tendency to shift blame when accountability is necessary.
