Pros

The doctor cares about your well being and is always giving opportunities for a raise. The staff is like family.

Cons

There is a large patient population everyday which can be overwhelming. There are 5 offices so a lot of traveling is involved.

Pros

The pay is pretty competitive compared to what you may make working in the hospital. The work is relatively easy and not very stressful at all. The hours are very flexible; there are no required weekends, holidays or mandatory overtime you would have to work. It's a close-knit center, so you really get to work intimately with both your co-workers and patients at developing positive relationships.

Cons

They have recently eliminated a lot of employee appreciation-geared sort of programs, so morale is very low and people worry the company may be in trouble financially. You can never predict how many hours you may actually have to work, so it's very difficult to plan anything for after work, because you are never sure when you will get off. Work, obviously, is patient dependent and since its a clinic - not a hospital - if patients don't show up, you have nothing to do. I've had a few days recently where I only worked 3 hours total for the entire day; not worth the gas money. Since the atmosphere is so intimate and close-knit, they can be obvious factions and definitely tons of gossip and negative talk amongst co-workers. It's almost like high school at times. Favoritism is often practiced and shows a clear weakness in leadership. Also, there seems to be hardly any promotion from within. I don't see room to advance my career here at all.
