Pros
you get to help the community and learn A LOT at such a rapid pace, and you get to jump right into the world of EMS. You will learn quickly if it's a career you really want to pursue. With a partner who can take the time to help you along you could be good, but starting out part time like I did is not recommended - best to go full time and really give it a shot.
Cons
Can be paired with coworkers who are rude & indifferent to both you and patients. Management can be aloof. Training isn't always sufficient for all different types of learners - ride time needs to be more hours and should be taken more seriously by people training who actually care.
