Pros

The class sizes are small compared to neighborhood schools.

Cons

If you're not interested in teaching American exceptionalism or "Christian" values, you're going to have a hard time working here. Admin discriminate openly against the staff members who don't share the same social and political viewpoints.

Pros

A small school, so it is easy to really get to know the students and their families. Many staff members really care and try to change the oppressive culture.

Cons

This school takes 'classical' to mean Christian, conservative, and white. They cloak it in language about 'tradition,' but it really means Eurocentric at the deliberate, clear, and stated exclusion of anything not white, conservative, and Christian. Documented sexual harassment without consequences; discrimination based on race, gender, & sexual orientation. The kids have no club activities because the culture of the school is so homophobic that they will not permit a Gay Straight Alliance chapter, and a school must allow a GSA if they have any other clubs. The choir teacher has been told not to perform any "ethnic" or "world" music. Teachers are ordered to not discuss anything "controversial." This includes any current events, including things like school shootings, Covid, and the war in Ukraine. Many of the teachers and administrators have only the thinnest of credentials. Enrollment has been an issue and so the administration is focused more on optics and "customer satisfaction" than anything else--i.e. keep the parents happy at all costs, even if it means passing students who have done little or no work at all. Some teachers try to raise the academic standards but are metaphorically beaten down by nagging parents and paranoid administrators. Plenty of micro-managing of teachers, but over policies that do not result in any sort of positive outcomes for students. Gratuitous staff meetings that accomplish very little. No transparency on hiring or promotions. There is an apparent "Executive Team" that includes a couple of teachers, but the teachers not on the team have no idea what the team does, who exactly is on it, and how they got there. There is a board that governs the school (not the JeffCo school board) and makes decisions about hiring/firing, but they have never met the teachers. Six out of the seven board members are men and no board member has any credentials/experience in education. Many very qualified teachers have left in the past two years and more are leaving this year. There are vague conversations about tightening the budget. Between financial issues, lower enrollments, staff exodus, this schools seems like it is on the verge of folding. Teacher pay is among the lowest in the Denver metro area.
