Pros

Small team makes it easy to get to know everyone. Everyone is going through it together. Chance to learn many techniques.

Cons

Poor management. Terrible culture. Makes a lab of 10 chemists feel unimportant to higher ups. Consistently overbooked with work leading to due dates being missed. Every time the overworking comes up there is a company wide meeting on how to be more efficient.

Pros

No defined roles or structure let you see many parts of the industry Can apply for similar work in the same area when you've gained some experience before quitting People quit often, new roles open regularly

Cons

Woke culture, sexism, gayism, favoritism, most employees are full of anxiety. If you accept a job 'to gain experience', expect to be paid less than fast food. High turnover, everybody is usually pissed off because CEO isn't knowledgeable on the work, spends most days just eating in his office. Attracts their clients through cheap prices causing the company to lose money. This forces employees to rush through work with faulty equipment who are then blamed for poor work - this is then used as reason to not give raises or provide adequate training. They shift focus and operating procedure every few weeks depending on which clients left or what new projects they accepted. Deadlines are provided that employee's can't meet because every day is already backlogged. They use reasons like 'have to do it this way for the FDA now' every few weeks despite failing their audits for the last 5 years. You'll wait weeks to get the materials needed to do your job, whether it's training, a notebook, or a desk.
