I had 3 months of probation instead of 6 months. aApproaching the end of my probation I got a letter in the mail saying my contract was terminated. The letter was dated the same date as a positive1 on 1 I had with my lead. The only answer is I was lied to by my lead or the CTO never told my lead I was being let go. Either way - maybe I dodged a bullet then.
It's the job version of being broken up with by SMS!
