do not expect to be respected, hours are long and sometimes when I counted them I had somehow worked extra without pay and had to fight for this to be resolved, the rota is not checked by management and many days the office is unmanned and then the sales staff are reprimanded for not coming in extra (on top of our 48 hour weeks) or for not hitting that days target, management will turn against you if you point out something they should not being doing (I was pulled in for meetings over stupid things like spelling a name wrong by accident - because my manager thought I was leaving when I asked for a reference to a job but I had not given a notice, so this was bullying) no organisation (if an event is happening it gets planned and announced 2 days before and the staff are last to know, managers expect you to have them on facebook to keep updated which is unprofessional and an invasion of private life), they had months to plan for the data protection change but still managed to leave everything until after the act was brought in i.e we were doing things illegally for a few days never thank you for your work, punish staff by sending them to sites that are falling apart and then expecting the same sales results, they always promise things but get around it by not putting it explicitly in writing so I always had to get things printed out in emails to cover me and my team's back. There has been more than one occasion that management have gone home ten minutes before a meeting and left the staff sitting around waiting, managers have said things that are unprofessional and then denied it (i.e have spread gossip), emails are left unanswered for weeks, rotas are changed without consultation, don't expect to get every other weekend off like you are meant to because you will be made to work every single one somehow
