Pros

Strong leadership, excellent benefits, and a genuine focus on making sure that employees have what they need to succeed,

Cons

It's a startup. Everyone wears multiple hats and there are times when we are asked to work outside "standard" work hours. Nothing surprising.

Pros

I came from a much larger cybersecurity provider as a front line manager. Several of my pros are going to be contrasted against that. 1. Executive team is approachable and highly experienced in several different ventures. All of which come together to make an excellent employee experience for either stretching into new areas or for buckling down and doing what you do best. 2. ActZero is a smaller company and this is more of a direct benefit of them being on the smaller side. I have very little bureaucratic tape to go through if I need help with something outside of my direct area of expertise. 3. The people are outstanding. I've made a lot of friends over my tenure here. Many of which I hope to stay in touch with should they or I ever decide to make a different career move. 4. Management is very transparent on the goings on within the company at a high level to their employees. Some may view this as a bad thing, but I would rather know the situation (good or bad) than believe everything is going well when it isn't.

Cons

Biggest con is going to, again, be tied to smaller companies. It is also something that some people may view as a pro, but I've seen several people struggle with it so I've decided to list it under the con side. Because this is a smaller company, you will often be asked to do things that you've never done before or may not be comfortable with. They will always be things that you have the skills for, but may be something that you've never done before. I classify this as a con because it does force you out of your comfort zone. I know from hiring and managing dozens of people that even though people might say they like being pushed out of their comfort zone, that is rarely the case. For those though that embrace new horizons and are truly ready to take a leap into something you may not be comfortable with, this is an easy slam dunk. The only other con I could really name is that there's no 401K matching. Not a huge deal for me and the compensation for roles, based on what I've seen in the market, makes up for that. But I want to be transparent.

Pros

Very fast moving. Many opportunities for growth, I've seen people entirely change teams and roles. Leadership is not scared to fire people who are underperforming. Typical startup benefits. CEO has sold 10+ companies.

Cons

Leadership is not scared to fire people who are underperforming, or don't fit the vision. Work/life balance can sometimes be tough. Company is constantly on the edge of hitting goals, so it always feels like we're playing catchup. Typical startup risks.
