Pros
I worked there about six years ago. If you enjoy collections, this is a good place to work. The environment is fun, the people are fun, and there's the opportunity to earn big bonuses if you do well. If you look in the parking lot, you'll see some really nice cars, and they don't just belong to management, but from collectors who constantly get big bonuses. The company seems to be doing really well, as when I worked there, their rather large call center was nearly completely full. A lot of successful collectors from other companies have gone to ACT and most of them really enjoy it. The companies has recognitions and raffles for top performers and an annual Christmas party. There are opportunities for promotion if you do well. Paid training and good mentorship from your supervisor and team leader.
Cons
I had worked at another collections company for about two years, and I left when things there started to go downhill. I didn't know if I still wanted to do collections or if I wanted to do something else, so I decided to go to ACT and see how I felt. Soon after starting there, I realized that I was just tired of collections, so I don't have much negative to say about ACT, as the reason I quit soon after starting had to do with me, not with them. However, I will say that some of the managers and administration were a lot less friendly than at my old place. My first collections job had a serious, yet playful environment, whereas some of the people here were so focused on their job that they were unfriendly.
