Pros

junior staff are amazing and passionate and recently unionized, which means they finally have SOME voice in program planning

Cons

where do I even begin? should it be the pervasive racism and white victimhood complex from management, or the absurdly low pay, or the mismanagement and micromanagement, or the empty appropriation of social justice language to cover up all manner of labor violations? the turnover rate reflects how toxic the organization is -- almost nobody stays for more than two years in a junior staff position. managers are more interested in fluffing up their own egos and "looking good" than in actually serving the community, and some of them are literally verbally abusive. there's no upward mobility because management doesn't trust junior staff to do our jobs, so they always hire new managers externally. the "raises" can barely be called raises and the benefits are SO expensive (we also don't even have paid parental leave... despite being a reproductive health organization). the hypocrisy is painful every single day. do NOT get stuck here!
