Pros
Accelevents has a great product and can be advanced to make it even better. For the most part, the people at Accelevents are great, and they offered a terrific benefits package when I was there.
Cons
Hands down the biggest downside to working at Accelevents is the owner. He is a terrific guy personally, but he is way over his head. The fact that he doesn't know he is way over his head is the real problem here. Lee Iacocca once said, "I hire people brighter than me and get out of their way." This is not the management philosophy of this owner. While an extraordinarily smart man, he cannot help but micromanage details in every department, including topics in which he has no experience. There's nothing wrong with being a very young entrepreneur without much real-world experience. But when you assume you know best because you've read a couple of articles or listened to a couple of podcasts about a topic, this is where things crumble. I strongly believe this has contributed to some of the market growth challenges they face.
