Pros
HR and back office are generally very willing and able to help. Branch upper management CAN be, but that all depends on who you have above you, and where you are. Salary for bankers is decent. Improvements are slow and small; however they can come in large quantity; and they come in spurts. Opportunity for advancement is fairly frequent, depending on your own ambition and skill. Fairly diverse. No gender-based wage gap, as pay is transparent and equal across the board. Benefits are decent, and the incentive program was recently overhauled.
Cons
Salary for managers is on the low end with no raise on the horizon. Upper management generally loves to change the rules with no concept or care for how it will affect the branch staff. When constructive criticism and/or ideas are brought forth to improve things, it is swiftly shut down. Clients treat staff like absolute trash, and upper management is slow to do anything to correct it. Threats to branch staff safety take months to handle.
