Pros

-Always on point with getting shifts in. Managed to get me two long term roles at schools which covered the vast majority of the academic -Immensely supportive and communicative -Pay is always on time and whenever there is issues (which is rare) they always contact as soon as about it -Provides training in the first few weeks through online courses -Lovely team in Doncaster

Cons

-Can be relatively seasonal, but that is by nature of the job. Expect a dry spell around September to early October as well as after school holidays -Pay is quite low, paid in daily as opposed to by the hour and the pay is dependent on the type of school -Training provided in person would help but is currently not provided. I was lucky to get this at another previous agency I worked in -Not much else, excellent agency

Pros

No pros at all .

Cons

Over the course of nearly three years at Academics, I experienced a culture where serious concerns were not handled appropriately and employees were not supported. I raised issues internally regarding inappropriate behaviour by members of management, but felt that my concerns were minimised and dismissed. While the company appeared to act to protect its own interests at a senior level, I did not feel supported as an individual. I was placed in situations where I had to continue working closely with individuals I had raised concerns about, which created an extremely uncomfortable and, at times, intimidating working environment. There were also clear issues around confidentiality, with sensitive matters being discussed openly, which significantly impacted my trust in management. The overall culture made it difficult to speak up without fear of being undermined. The cumulative effect of these experiences had a significant impact on my wellbeing and ultimately left me feeling I had no option but to resign.
