Pros
Academic Achievers is simply the best. I've worked for many tutoring companies, both local in LA and virtually, and as someone who is sometimes deemed "overqualified," Academic Achievers has been a balm. Trying to teach with a graduate degree can sometimes be tricky, as it is easy to be overqualified and underpaid. Not here. They seek the best of the best, and they pay you as such. Janis, the CEO, is the real deal. While the vetting process may be more intense than others, it is worth it. Personally, I enjoyed getting to know her from the moment I first interviewed. She takes this work very seriously, and I love meeting other people who have a passion for education. Also the admin is stellar. They walk you through everything and make sure you're being taken care of. Pay, flexibility, fair expectations, teacher advocacy... Academic Achievers is my number 1.
Cons
As mentioned the standards may seem high, but so should the quality of one's work at this level. The compensation is commensurate :)
